In my care you landed

You used to just be an idea

Until I’ve found my own Maria

A dream I couldn’t understand

Clueless as I walked the land

One day in my care you landed

Right away, our souls were bound

I’ve welcomed you to the world

With my very best words

I wish you all

To enjoy and swim by the waterfalls

To grow good and strong

And to right all previous wrongs

To find yourself the one

To be responsible and have lots of fun

Like a miracle, you were born out of air

Because of you my dreams I dare

Since you’re looking, I must make it

And prove to you life is truly worth it

You gave your parents the greatest gift

Through life, we now happily drift

Another life more important than ours

To share the moment and stop at the flowers

You were what I’ve been waiting for

A true reason to pull off the score

To build a home

That cannot be blown

To be at my best behavior

My dear child, my world you color

An unegotistic reason for being

The greatest of all the feelings

To be responsible for a little one

I have arrived and stopped to run

My son the sun now shines

Life with you is so sublime

I hear the birds singing again

For you everything I can

At first, you were fully dependent

But I’ll teach you everything I can

So that one day by your wings you’ll fly

You are the son of the butterfly

You are what comes next

My legacy at its best

One day I’ll leave the world

And trust you’ll take over to spread the good word

What's needed for your time

Uphold our name and make it shine

Like my father and his father before me

You’ll lift our banner and keep it worthy

Make your ancestors proud in heaven

I’ve seen you grow, I know you can

You were what I’ve been waiting for

A true reason to pull off the score

To build a home

That cannot be blown

To be at my best behavior

My dear son, my world you color
